YUG News usa – Joe Biden calls for humanitarian ‘pause’ in Israel-Hamas war, President Joe Biden stated that he believed the Israel-Hamas conflict should take a humanitarian “pause” after a demonstrator demanding a cease-fire disrupted his Wednesday night campaign rally. Biden remarked, “I think we need a pause.”

The conversation marked a subdued shift for Biden and senior White House officials, who have been unwavering in their declaration that they will not control how the Israeli military responds to the Hamas strike on October 7 throughout the Middle East crisis.

However, the president is coming under increasing criticism from human rights organizations, other international leaders, and even progressive Democrats who believe that a cease-fire is needed and that Israel’s shelling of Gaza is a kind of collective punishment.

Biden was putting pressure on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with his remarks to let the Palestinians at least a little break from the ceaseless military campaign that has claimed hundreds of lives and engulfed the 141-square-mile strip in a violent humanitarian catastrophe.

A cease-fire request has not been made by the White House. However, it has sent a message to the Israelis that humanitarian pauses should be considered in order to provide relief to civilians and free foreign nationals who are stranded on the Gaza Strip.
According to the IDF on Wednesday, Israeli ground forces have pushed close to Gaza City amid fierce combat with terrorists. After more than three weeks under siege, hundreds of foreign nationals and dozens of Palestinians with significant injuries were permitted to leave Gaza.

Aside from four hostages freed by Hamas and one saved by Israeli troops, the first civilians to evacuate Gaza fled into Egypt. They did so when bombs forced hundreds of thousands of Palestinians from their homes and there was a shortage of food, fuel, and water.

3. John Kirby stated

John Kirby, a spokesman for the White House National Security Council, stated earlier on Wednesday that Jack Lew, Biden’s recently confirmed ambassador to Israel, would shortly be sent to the Middle East. Part of his duties would include “supporting US efforts to create the conditions for a humanitarian pause to address the worsening humanitarian conditions facing Palestinian civilians.”

In response to requests for greater help for Gaza, Israeli Ambassador to the US Michael Herzog said on “The Hill” on NewsNation on Wednesday that “we don’t need urging.”

Humanitarian goods are being sent into Gaza at a faster rate to the southern parts of the territory that are not under Hamas control. Truckloads are double in number and will continue to rise, he added. “We give out water. Other kinds of goods are what we provide.”

They were glad to see foreigners depart Gaza, he told NewsNation. Thus, in that sense, we don’t require prodding. This week, our Cabinet deliberated on the matter and determined that, provided we can ensure that Hamas does not obtain humanitarian goods and turn them into fuel for its war engine, there are no restrictions. That won’t occur. Everything is open except from that.”

4. Biden was explaining

As Biden was explaining his 2020 presidential campaign to an audience in Minneapolis on Wednesday night, a woman stood up and shouted, “Mr. President, if you care about the Jewish people, as a rabbi, I would I urge you to call for a ceasefire.” ,

Near the location of the event, his appearance in the city attracted over a thousand protestors, many of whom carried Palestinian flags and placards bearing the slogans “Stop Bombing Children,” “Free Palestine,” and “Ceasefire now.”

The protester was soon yelled down by other attendees and taken out of the room after Biden stated that he understood the feelings driving the protestor. A delay, he said when questioned, “means give time to get the prisoners out.” Later, White House officials explained that Obama was referring to humanitarian supplies and captives.

“For the Israelis, this is extremely complicated,” Biden continued. It’s quite complex for the Muslim community as well. I have always been in favor of a two-state solution.”

“Hamas is a terrorist group, that much is certain. An outright terrorist group,” he declared.

However, Biden mentioned that he has been engaged in providing humanitarian help, claiming credit for persuading Netanyahu and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sissi to let supplies to reach Gaza.
